6 Perfect Picnic Spots to Get Away from it All

Pawleys Island has several public access areas where you can spread a picnic out on the beach. Head to the Second Street Beach Access has free parking, but you might have to back out. Just a head's up. You'll have a fabulous view of the pier while you chow down. The water is clear, and the beach is beautiful. Suppose it's crowded? No worries. The Island offers eight other beach access points.

Pawleys Island Nature Park near town hall offers a serene spot on the marsh for setting up a picnic, though there are no tables, so bring your own or a blanket. 

Morse Park Landing is a small park in Murrells Inlet with a view of the marsh and a couple of picnic tables. It's a tranquil place that serves as the site of the Lost at Sea Memorial. Use the dock for crabbing and fishing. Parking and admission are free.

Huntington Beach State Park in Murrells Inlet offers picnic shelters to enjoy a packed lunch after bird watching. The park is known as one of the best birding sites in the Southeast. Visit its Nature Center while on site.

East Bay Park in Georgetown on the Sampit River and Winyah Park provides picnic tables, shelters, and a playground.
