9 Things to Know When you Book a Fishing Charter with Harvest Moon

Whether you are a serious angler or a novice who’s never put a line in the water, an inshore or near shore fishing charter makes an excellent way to spend time on the Hammock Coast. Harvest Moon Fishing Charters, one of our Tidelife partners, makes it easy to get out on the water and on the fish. Book a trip to experience fishing the Carolina coast with experienced guides. We’ll help make it easy for you.

How many can go?

Harvest Moon's 21-foot Key West boat comfortably fits three to four people. If you have a larger group, Harvest Moon can coordinate other captains to accommodate the entire group comfortably, safely, and legally.

Should I bring kids?

Absolutely! These are family-friendly charters. Be sure to bring a comfortable fitting life jacket for small children.

Do I need a fishing license?

There is no need to purchase a fishing license when you book a charter fishing trip. The license is included.

What else is provided?

A charter also provides fishing supplies and equipment, coolers, ice, and bottled water.

What should I bring?

Guests are welcome to bring snacks and other drinks, hats, a small towel, sunglasses, non-aerosol sunscreen and a rain jacket. Also bring a fish cooler if you want to take something back for dinner (but leave in your vehicle).

Where do we fish?

Harvest Moon offers inshore and near shore fishing charters in the shallow waters of Winyah Bay and around Georgetown. The captain goes to nearshore fishing sites within a few minutes of land.

What will we catch?

Depending on the season, anglers can expect to catch redfish, speckled trout, flounder, sheepshead, Spanish mackerel, King mackerel, tarpon, cobia, and more.

Do I keep my catch?

Guests can keep enough to make a meal if the fish meets legal requirements. But, with redfish, the boat follows a Catch and Release policy.
