Water's Edge

The house is stunning! It was very clean when we arrived, one of the cleanest we have ever stayed in. The large kitchen and dining room were perfect for our whole family, and we had plenty of space to spread out and relax without being on top of each other. The elevator was great for our grandparents who could not do stairs really well and we thoroughly appreciated the golf cart to cruise through the community in the evenings. Kids loved the large back deck and the sunsets were to die for! We absolutely will stay here again. TideLife staff was very helpful and the home was exactly as advertised. 5 stars from us!!

From the moment we pulled through the front entrance we knew it was going to be an amazing weekend. Driving through the DeBordieu community in itself is an unforgettable experience. Our large family is able to get together a few times each year, and I can say with confidence that this was one of the best properties we have every stayed at. The house was extremely clean and recently upgraded with high end furnishings, finished off with elegant interior decor. Bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms, and living areas are nicely equipped and generous with space. Just about every room in the house has a newer flat screen TV, not that you would want to watch anything but the ocean. As nice as the house was, it does not compare to the location and views that the property offered. I live in Pawleys Island and have spent countless hours on the ocean, never have I witness the views that I was able to during our stay. The house has two levels of unobstructed views of the ocean. Our family was able to watch several species of birds, dozens of dolphins, and even a whale! Four of the six bedrooms face the ocean as well as sitting and living areas. As a bonus, the TideLife Vacation Rental Team are great to work with. Very helpful, quick to respond, and answered any questions we had. We will be booking through them and staying here again soon!

We had the privilege of renting Water's Edge for a long Labor Day weekend and it was a truly memorable affair. We are a group of four families with a cohort of young kids & babies who wanted to spend the holiday on the beach. And, dear reader, we were ON the beach. From the top floor & main living area of the house we gazed out of the massive windows and saw nothing but wide open ocean. It felt as though we were on a cruise ship... except much, much better than that. We came to escapethe world and found ourselves lost in an ocean-front dream from which I'd prefer never to wake. The home is nestled on the most exclusive, picturesque road in Debordieu Colony, surrounded by Southern Living magazine-worthy homes. As you descend the long gravel driveway, you’re greeted by an impressive yet inviting structure. The house is bold in design, pushing daringly close to the ocean, appearing almost part of the sand dunes, and offering unparalleled views. Just steps from the beach path, you’ll find yourself on a private, expansive beach with soft sand and serene views of the Atlantic. Whether you prefer a Shimubi or a Sun Ninja, an umbrella or a tent, you’ll have plenty of space as the beach is uncrowded and tranquil. Forget your Yeti? Need a bathroom break? Want to head in for lunch? No worries, the house is but a 30-second walk away from your exclusive oasis. Warning: once you experience the beach like this, no other way will suffice. We are forever spoiled. As with most coastal homes this one rests high on stilts, and the space underneath the first floor is smartly used for housing beach equipment, a carport, and functions as a convenient place to rinse sandy feet and stow beach gear for quick access. Coinicidentally, a pair of outdoor showers was perfect for ensuring that our aspiring sandcastle architects did not bring their work home with them. A hidden ground-level game area, complete with a ping pong table, offered a fun break from the beach.Whether you prefer the stairs or the elevator, sooner or later you will venture to the upper floors of the residence. There you will find tastefully appointed bedrooms and adjoining bathrooms, and thoughtful social areas with plentiful space for large groups that allows for privacy without sacrificing togetherness. The home is artisinally hand-decorated in a coastal theme that dares you not to relax and forget about the day-to-day hustle and bustle of ordinary life. The hub of activity is the top floor - intentionally designed, I'm sure, to leverage the exceptional views at maximum altitude. Large windows adorn every room on the ocean side of the home, and the top floor is no exception. Here as well you are invited to venture onto the enormous deck to savor the sea breeze and take in the stars at night. Our group relished the precious few quiet moments we had where, children nestled asleep to the sounds of ocean waves, the day near its end, we sipped cocktails and stared out wondrously across the great darkness of the sea. No need to stand though, as several rocking chairs and an outdoor table give plenty of incentive to take a load off. One could spend his entire trip on this balcony simply recalibrating his perspective on the world.Back inside, friends and family will no doubt break bread over a spectacularly large dining table, feasting on meals prepared in the adjoining chef's kitchen which, I'm happy to report, was fully stocked with all of the necessary cooking and eating implements one could hope for. Two dishwashers, two sinks, a large refrigerator and a separate wine fridge, spacious quartz countertops, a warehouse worth of cabinet storage - this kitchen is an inspiration. As if the owners didn't already think of everything, for the coffee addicts among us (guilty!) they include a large coffee percolator. For the uninitiated, this innovative appliance brews coffee by the vat, providing enough in a single brew to energize everyone in our group at the start of each day. The sleeping accomodations were spacious and extraordinarly comfortable. Various configurations of beds mean that this beach chalet will easily flex to meet the needs of any configuration of friends or family. Since many of the bedrooms are on the lower level it was very easy to put the young'ns to bed, after which the adults could partake in fellowship and seek much-needed respite from the day's maelstroms of parental duties. Every little detail is accounted for at Water's Edge - the air conditioning was perfect and easily controlled, the furniture high-end and tasteful, the experience dripping with luxury and hedonism. If you are considering a beachfront rental you could do no better than Water's Edge. Bring your beach towels, your cooler and your Shimubi, and take home an unforgettable experience on Debordieu Colony. We'll be back to fill up our cups, and can't wait to return.

The gourmet kitchen is perfect for those that like to cook. The layout of the home offers privacy and amazing views from all of the bedrooms and common areas. Large living and dining room for all to enjoy. Clean and updated. The view and access to the beach does not get any better!

Spectacular views, beautifully decorated, fresh open beach feel with plenty of room for family/friends to spread out. There could no better beach experience than this amazing home right on the beach. Enjoying drinks or coffee on the deck is so relaxing , with the views and sounds of the ocean immediately before you. Really doesn’t get any better…
